The land for our first home consisted
of 21 unimproved acres in the country. We purchased a low end
mobile home and placed it on the property next to ours. The
necessary utilities were already in place from a previous home. We, of
course, started construction on our home during December (seems to be
our favorite time of the year). It was a big mess getting cement
trucks in to pour our slab for the garage. The weather cleared up
a little for the cement trucks when our piers were ready to be poured
but when the trucks arrived with our pre-fab panels, we were trying to
remove sheets of ice from the subfloor which we had covered with heavy
plastic.
